How does not letting sex offenders live near schools have anything to do with sex offenders working in a scho.?

I really do not understand how not letting sex offenders live near schools make our communities safer when they work in the schools. I think it would be more important to have a law to prevent them working in schools rather than laws about them living near schools. All schools today have police officers right on the property while school is in session. No strangers are allowed on school property and teachers would now if they see someone who is not suppose to be there.

I think sex offenders are precluded from working with children. schools have to run background checks on employee's and they would get flagged and not hired or fired.
